How we verify our guides

China’s entry rules, apps and payment systems change. Every important claim should tell you where it came from, when it was checked and whether we tested it ourselves.

Official sources first

For immigration, transport, payment and public-service rules, we begin with the responsible authority or service provider. Government summaries are used when they link back to the relevant authority or primary guide.

Testing is labeled

“Tested” means a contributor completed the flow and recorded the date, app version and device. A review of official instructions is labeled “Verified from official documentation” and never presented as hands-on testing.

Screenshots need context

Every instructional screenshot should record the device platform, app version and capture month. We avoid fabricated interfaces. Missing evidence is shown as a clearly labeled placeholder until a real capture is available.

High-change pages get priority

Entry rules, mobile payments, identity checks, train booking and attraction reservations receive more frequent reviews. Stable orientation content is reviewed less often.

Published
The page first appeared on China Ready.
Updated
The wording, structure or recommendations changed.
Last verified
The key operational claims and cited sources were checked again.

Corrections

If an app screen, rule or process no longer matches what you see, send the exact step, date, device and error message to our editorial desk. Remove passport, payment and account details from screenshots. We review material corrections, update the page and refresh its verification date only after the affected claim has been checked.

Report an outdated step

Source hierarchy

  1. Responsible government authority or product provider
  2. Official airport, railway, airline or city transport operator
  3. Official government guidance that consolidates primary rules
  4. Hands-on test records with version and date
  5. Third-party reports used only as leads, not sole proof of a changing rule
